KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10, 2026 — XPB (XPB), a leading provider of generator rental services, has officially marked its entry into the Sarawak market after securing three Letters of Award (LOA) totaling RM8.3 million. The contracts, accepted through its wholly-owned subsidiary Express Mission Sdn Bhd, involve the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of generator sets for a cornerstone public transportation project in Sarawak.
The project is widely understood to support the development of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) and its innovative Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) network. Under the terms of the agreement, Express Powerr will deliver 21 generator sets to several Malaysian contractors tasked with the site’s infrastructure and civil works. All related contracts are slated for completion by December 31, 2026, aligning with the state's push to launch its first hydrogen-powered transit services.
Managing Director Mr. Lim Cheng Ten described the win as a defining moment for the company’s regional growth. "This marks our first entry into Sarawak and represents a significant milestone in our geographic expansion," Lim said. He highlighted that the project leverages the momentum from the company’s 2024 expansion into Sabah, demonstrating their "capability to support large-scale infrastructure works across different operating environments while broadening our customer base beyond Peninsular Malaysia."
The move into Sarawak is strategically timed to coincide with the Sarawak Budget 2026, which has allocated substantial funding toward modernizing public transport. "Sarawak offers strong long-term potential, supported by sustained infrastructure development and strong public sector investment," Lim added. He noted that the demand for reliable temporary power solutions remains robust as the state transitions toward an "innovation-driven river economy" and green mobility solutions.
Express Powerr, which made its debut on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia in September 2025, expects these contracts to contribute positively to its future earnings. With a fleet optimized for high-demand applications, the company aims to use these initial contracts to establish Sarawak as a permanent growth hub within its broader national strategy.
