KUALA LUMPUR: THETA has secured a RM33.01 million appointment to procure and supply laptops and desktop computers under a Device as a Service (DaaS) lifecycle management project.
The group said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Theta Technologies Sdn Bhd, received and accepted a letter of award from Aceteam Networks Sdn Bhd on Nov 3, appointing it as the exclusive supplier of the hardware.
The appointment covers a maximum commitment of 5,742 units of laptops and desktops, with the award value excluding applicable taxes.
Theta Technologies will source new and unused computers through manufacturers' authorised local distribution channels and deliver them to Aceteam or locations nominated by the company, based on agreed specifications and purchase orders.
The contract will begin on the first delivery date and remain in force until 60 months after the successful completion of the User Acceptance Test, unless terminated earlier under the agreement.
Theta Edge said the appointment would allow the group to expand its computer hardware procurement and supply business, while strengthening its relationship with Aceteam.
The contract is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings over five financial years, beginning with the financial year ending Dec 31, 2027.
It will be funded through internally generated funds and/or borrowings. The group also identified potential risks, including hardware price fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, delivery delays and product availability.
The appointment does not require shareholders' or regulatory approval.
