KUALA LUMPUR: FRONTKN (FCB) maintains an optimistic outlook for its semiconductor business, underpinned by robust structural demand driven by artificial intelligence (AI), generative and agentic AI, high-performance computing, automotive electronics, and advanced manufacturing.

The precision cleaning and surface-treatment specialist said it is actively enhancing operational capabilities and undertaking selective capacity expansion to capture emerging opportunities across the semiconductor ecosystem.

Concurrently, the group holds a cautiously optimistic stance on its oil and gas engineering division for the remainder of 2026, supported by steady customer requirements for asset maintenance, operational efficiency, and specialised technical services.

For the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2026 (3Q26), Frontken’s net profit rose 24.92% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM57.25 million, up from RM45.83 million recorded in 3Q25.

Group quarterly revenue expanded 11.84% y-o-y to RM181.04 million compared with RM161.87 million in the previous corresponding period. Top-line growth was primarily driven by higher contributions from subsidiaries in Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore.

The Taiwan unit, Frontken’s largest revenue generator, grew 11% in ringgit terms and an even stronger 24% on a constant-currency basis in New Taiwan dollars, bolstered by heavy fabrication demand and robust orders from key foundry customers. Malaysia also saw an 18% revenue lift from active oil and gas supply tasks.

On a quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q) basis, net profit climbed 19.97% from the RM47.72 million posted in the immediate preceding second quarter, which ended June 30, 2026 (2Q26), buoyed by richer product margins in the semiconductor space.

This came despite a 3.14% sequential easing in top-line revenue from RM186.91 million in 2Q26, which was affected by lower supply-related deliveries in its Malaysian energy engineering business.

For the cumulative nine months ended Sept 30, 2026 (9M26), bottom line surged 33.47% y-o-y to RM147.33 million from RM110.39 million in 9M 2025.

Cumulative turnover grew 23.71% y-o-y to RM557.76 million against RM450.86 million, lifted by higher operating efficiency and broader industry order books.

No dividend was proposed or declared for the individual third quarter. For the cumulative nine-month period, total declared dividends stood at two sen per share, unchanged from the previous corresponding period, following the single-tier interim distribution disbursed on Sept 17, 2026.
